CREATING WRITERS THROUGH 6-TRAIT WRITING K-12
What is 6-Trait Writing? It is an assessment model and a powerful instructional tool that is used by teachers all over the country to help students improve their writing grades K-12! It is so popular, that even Scholastic and the website “Writing Fix” have embraced this model created by Education Northwest more than 20 years ago.
This online course is designed to fit your needs, whether you are teaching in the primary or intermediate grades. It also can be adapted to meet the needs of any writing that is used in the content areas. During this course, you will receive 6-Trait writing lessons, teacher and kid-friendly writing rubrics, knowledge on effective feedback to students and information on how this model will help you transition into the new Common Core Standards for writing. This course can be successfully completed by a novice online participant.
Participants are required to have access to a computer with Microsoft Office 2000 or newer.
MEETING DATES: July 15- August 26, 2018
LOCATION: Course to be conducted online using Canvas.
Courses will be available 24 hours a day online during that time; login info will be emailed by 9AM on the course start date
AUDIENCE: Educators in all content areas, from primary grades through college

CREDITS: Three (3) Continuing Professional Education (CPE) graduate credit (90 Act 48 Hours). May count towards Level II Certification and Master’s Equivalency.
